Folks are stopping in to share memories over on the WebMD board:
http://boards.webmd.com/webx/topics/hd/General-Health/Smoking-Cessation-Support-Group/
Be sure to check them out...under "In Memoriam" thread.
I'm tracking down Arleen's obituary (hoping it's a fruitful quest) & will keep you informed.
I am most grateful to know she is now with Sherrie...she missed her daughter something fierce. Her younger daughter, Linda, still lives in the CA area, but have no other knowledge of her.
Am not feeling any urges to smoke (thank you, God)...just sadness, emptiness, loss...like I imagine most all of us are feeling.

Hi, Mary Ann!
ReplyDeleteThings are just a bit bleak today. We rarely get rain, but the sky has opened up just dumped lots of rain off and on all day today. Must be all those angels in heaven crying from JOY over having Arleen there. I'm comforted by the fact that she LOVED GOD SO MUCH and is very happy to be where she is at. Someday, Mary Ann, you'll see her again and I'll get to actually meet her for the first time. I already feel I know her so.
I'm going on and on ... just that kind of day. Just want to talk about Queen Mum... think about her and appreciate the woman she was. Guess it's called mourning, isn't it? And ... I cry ... this will pass, but... my heart will never forget her.
Thanks for hearing me, Mary Ann.
Love you!

I'm going to miss Arleen. Sorry if I don't make sense here; but I've been missing her. And all of LOS. I can't stop crying. What an influence Queen Mum has had on us all. Mary Ann what a wonderful joy to have gotten to meet her in real life. I know that sounds weird 'real life'....even in this virtual world it is still real to me. And though I never seen Arleen or met her; it amazes me that in this world we got to know her; if it wasn't for that how would we have faired than?
ReplyDeleteLove you all

Thank you, Deanie and Pam...we all shared such a special time "back when." I got an email from Mike...WebMD's playing the frustration game with him re username/password garbahge. When they changed the format we lost so many folks out of pure frustration with the changes. (I still get torqued when I think about it!) Anyway, I received a few emails & posted them on the board so invited Mike to do the same, that I'd be glad to post one for him, too.
ReplyDeleteGetting to meet Arleen was quite surreal, as she was exactly how she came across on the board & I felt I'd known her all my life, the "lady next door"...warm, caring, happy to see you & with an infectious laugh which just made you laugh, too. It was truly a gift from God that our meeting worked out.
I'm gonna try & get a photo on here sometime today or tomorrow...check back, okay?
And stop by whenever you like...I check several times a day & always have a minute to post a response.
Love you too! Mary Ann
